International Chaplains Association – INTERCHAP GLOBAL

Our main goals are:

– To facilitate mutual encouragement, support and understanding among chaplains around the world.
– To support and promote professional chaplaincy, and to safeguard high professional standards among chaplains around the world.
– To provide spiritual, psychological and health care services to individuals and organizations in need, including but not limited to, hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, educational institutions, churches and businesses.
– To assist in the combat and prevention of drug and alcohol abuse and provide treatment and rehabilitation assistance to addicts and alcoholics using any and all available means.
– To support efforts aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals and the environment by means of social, cultural, and environmental education activities.
– To advertise and provide opportunities for continuing education that address especially the needs and concerns of chaplains and which will bolster their abilities to meet the needs of their communities.
– To increase awareness, respect and appreciation for area chaplains, and the INTERCHAP, within our communities around the world.
– To use all means and efforts necessary to fulfill its purposes including organization into as many service units as needed and the building of service institutions including, but not limited to, hospitals, day-care centers, educational institutions, and rehabilitation centers using INTERCHAP resources and resources received through federal and state grants.
